An example to apply for the Gallery Assistant role at No 20 Arts in London, shown in a previous post.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to apply for the Gallery Assistant role advertised with No 20 Arts. Please find attached my CV for a detailed view of my skills and experience.

Although I haven’t visited your gallery in person, I have looked at your website and the current work on show. I was especially interested in the current solo exhibition ‘From Darkness’ by Tom de Freston, and his abstract expression of the themes of suffering and beauty.

I don’t have any direct experience for the role of gallery assistant, however I feel I have relevant transferable experience that makes me a suitable candidate. I have had a varied range of employment which has given me experience of working with customers, of physical work, and varied hours, which are useful in many roles. I have also had recent experience of collaborative practice and exhibition planning within a university setting.

I am a friendly, polite and trustworthy person which I feel is important for any role. I pick new things up easily and am willing to learn.

I look forward to hearing from you to discuss an interview.

Thank you for your consideration.

Yours Sincerely,

Hannah Halls
